Love Island star Adam Maxted sets to become professional wrestling

Ever since the Love Island star Adam Maxted left the series, the Irish hunk has been working hard to become a professional wrestler, taking part in fights up and down the UK.

Chatting about his desire to be more than 'the guy from Love Island', Adam said: "I was on a TV show but I used that as an opportunity to get the opportunity that I needed.

"Before Love Island I was wrestling for about eight months – now I am doing it every weekend.
"My girlfriend is on the road with me all the time with it too."

Admitting the ITV stint has caused a bit of backlash he continued to Southside Wrestling: "Wrestling fans have given a pretty negative reaction to me.

"But a lot of people didn't know I was wrestling a long time before that.
"Others have welcomed me with open arms as they can see I am so passionate about the business.

"When I walk into a locker room I am nervous as I'm from a reality show but I use it as motivation to train."

Despite flashing his abs on the hit show, Adam was keen not to fall into the same trap as co-star Zara Holland and get down and dirty on TV.
"I knew if I was respectful it would open doors," he added.

"I was the only one who didn't do any sexual activity on the show as it would jeopardise my future goals."

Adam paired up with Katie Salmon, but the pair parted ways shortly after the show.
