Wayne Rooney break from football: Everton striker ‘to miss games for getaway with Coleen’

Pregnant wife Coleen, 31, is said to have asked the Everton striker – who was stopped by police while driving Laura Simpson’s VW Beetle after a party in Cheshire earlier this month – to request “sympathetic leave”.

The mum-of-three reportedly wants them to take a break as a family.  If Toffees boss Ro­n­ald Koeman granted the request, the former England captain, 31, could miss a series of first team games.

Coleen is thought to be fuming after three Lions and Manchester united top scorer Rooney – who only rejoined Everton this summer – partied with 29-year-old Simpson at Bubble Room, in Alderley Edge, while she was away with their kids in Majorca.

She was spotted without her wedding ring at the end of last week. But sources close to the couple say she wants to give the former Manchester United ace – who has cheated on her several times – another chance.

“She thinks it’s important to get away from the area and try and spend some time together – him, her and the kids.”

Rooney was mocked by Spurs fans as Everton lost 3-0 at home in the Premier League on Saturday.

The striker – who is due back in court over the drink-drive charge next Monday – may have had his mind on other things.

Rooney retired from international football last month and could get away when his former Three Lions teammates take on Slovenia at Wembley at the start of next month.

Coleen has already taken 10 holidays this year. Wayne was said to have agreed to stop partying – if she stopped taking so many breaks.
