The Hollywood hip hop superstar and the wife of Jay Z Beyoncé has taken to her Instagram page to reveal the happy news, the pop superstar wrote: "We would like to share our love and happiness.
"We have been blessed two times over.
"We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters."
The mother of one accompanied the announcement with a picture in which she bared her bump in a bra and frilly knickers in front of a floral display.
The power couple initially got together in 2002 after collaborating on track 03 Bonnie & Clyde for the rapper's seventh studio album.
Six years later they married in an intimate ceremony, keeping the big day a secret from both fans and the media.
However, the couple eventually gave the world a glimpse into the romantic service when Beyoncé used home shot video footage as part of her Mrs Carter World Tour.
In 2013 the Grown Women singer candidly revealed how she had suffered a miscarriage before conceiving Blue.
"About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time," she explained.
"And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.
"I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like. I was feeling very maternal."
Recalling the sad news she continued: "I flew back to New York to get my check up - and no heartbeat.
"Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat."
In Sorry, the star sang: "He only want me when I’m not there… he better call Becky with the good hair."
And in Hold Up she lashed out: "Can't you see there's no other man above you?
"What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you."
